Day 0.5




Getting to know me...



So, I'm in a place where I'm searching for ways to lose weight, eat healthy and lose some of the annoying ailments that seem to come with excess weight and excess age.
I've been using Spark People to get started on my healthy journey and I've managed to lose about 15 lbs in 6 weeks - not too shabby. (I LOVE SP!!! - check it out - www.sparkpeople.com)

A visit to Whole Foods for my weekly groceries changed my path for ever. I met a woman who was talking about how she eats only raw, living foods. Knowing nothing (and I mean NOTHING) about what she was talking about, I started taking notes. I got home that night and was driving my husband crazy and googling like mad. I'm still ultra clueless, having taken 1 raw food class (for about 2 hours)

This blog will be my online journal - food journal and also emotional journal. I wanted to get started eating raw now, even though I don't have a great blender, know nothing about food combining and even less about how to un-cook.

Yesterday, June 22, 2009 I started to incorporate more foods. Above is a photo of my first ever raw lunch.
In my bowl:
  • 2 organic avocados
  • organic cherry tomatoes
  • organic mixed greens
  • lemon juice
  • lime juice
  • fresh chives
Dinner was o.k. I was not totally raw - really just wasn't prepared...
